— Talk Abstract —
Abstract: In this talk, I’ll take you behind the scenes of how visual journalism works on the day to day. I’ll talk about the tools we use, the challenges and rewards of journalism, and show the process of developing a visual story. I’ll also discuss my own journey of being self-taught in data visualization and going from academia, to business, to journalism.
— Speaker Bio —
Bio: Will is a developer, designer, journalist, and artist. He uses his background as a researcher to better understand the world through data and he shares those insights by designing and coding visual essays. Will has done dataviz in academia, business, freelance, and he currently works at Axios as a visual journalist. He also likes to make experimental stuff for the web and generative art.
